Believe Me, I’m Lying
“If you keep telling white lies, soon you’ll go color blind.”
White lies are like life boats in raging waters. We cling to them to keep from sinking, to escape the storm. We wear them like masks, keeping a poker face. Because sometimes saying someone’s butt looks big, really isn’t the best thing to do. Sometimes, a simple “you look nice,” even if they DON’T, is not a bad thing.
Real lies are like life boats in raging waters. We cling to them to keep from sinking, to escape the storm. We wear them like masks, keeping a poker face. Because admitting you did something wrong, is like walking on broken glass and jumping into lava afterwards. It’s an inevitable danger to ourselves, a life risk. So. We lie.
We lie to save ourselves. We lie to save someone elses feelings. We lie, sometimes, just to lie. Because it’s easier than telling the truth.
We accept lies to help ouselves. We accept lies becuase we don’t want our feelings hurt. We accept lies, becuase quite simply, sometimes we don’t realize it’s a lie. Because sometimes its easier to believe the lie, than hear the truth…
“I’m fine,” is never fine. “No big deal,” is a HUGE deal, and “I don’t care,” means you care more than you’d like to say. Little lies, to hide big problems. Fake smiles to hide real pain. Trying to cram it into your brain that it will all be okay. We lie every day. And when you lie to yourself, the only person you’re really fooling, is you.
Michaela Says,
“Liar, liar, pants on fire…” stop faking, start living, let go of what brings you down, and cling to what brings a smile to your face. Never stop smiling, never stop loving, never stop hoping.
Tell a white lie or two to someone you care about, tell a white lie or two to save your butt (and deal with the guilt,) tell a white lie or two to keep afloat in the waters. But never, NEVER, lie to yourself. If you do, you’ll soon no longer be able to tell the difference of lies from truths from others.
Real eyes, realize, real lies.
